Definition of Literary Criticism

Literary criticism is part of the study (science) literature that is directly related to the literature by doing the interpretation, analysis, and evaluation of literary works.

The fundamental difference in the activity of literary criticism with appreciation of literature and the study (studies) literature is the judgment (decision making) and the value of a good or bad literature, which are not required in the activity of the appreciation of literature and literary studies.
